Manna House is a ministry that involves many local churches, synagogues and community groups volunteering to help provide a daily meal to those in need. In addition, Saint Kateri does an evening community spaghetti dinner, the second Tuesday of each month that is open to all. A nominal fee for those who can afford it is charged for the dinner and proceed go towards supporting the work of Manna House.
Adult volunteers are always needed to help with dinner and are welcome to join us. It entails arriving at the First Presbyterian Church of Newton at 3:00 PM, to prepare the meal including salad, spaghetti, garlic bread and ice cream, serving it from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM, and then cleaning up and finishing around 7:00 PM.
Volunteering with Manna House is a wonderful way to live our faith in real time. We enjoy fellowship while working hard to “give back’” and in many cases, “pay it forward” for the many blessings we receive. Feel free to call/text me at the number below with any questions or to join the team. Have a great day!
